Employer | Client | Role | Tools |
---|---|---|---|
Personal Project | Book loving cafe entrepreneur | Graphic Designer | Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator |
OVERVIEW |
Faunt on Third. is a funky and whimsical cafe concept that merges a book store with a German patisserie. The owners want a brand that Combines best parts of a library and a cafe, and works them into a consistent brand and book exchange program that appeals to spunky and innovative adults 25-40. Timeline 2 weeks. TRANSLATION The design came about through vintage library cards and government forms from the 1940s. The fonts chosen dip into a more stylized time of Germanic script with Buena Park as the main title and Antique Olive for a funky san serif counter point. A series of six logos that utilize the same visual language through font, but have unique structures, are used to add variety to the brand through a stamped effect. These logos are applied to a series of collateral forms which are built out with the library card format, leaning on grids and charts to relay information along with clean embellished icons. Additional branded applications include coffee cups, pastry bags, cake boxes, aprons and a full food and book exchange menu. |
HIGHLIGHTS |
The illustrated author table numbers were a must and I also loved making the mockups of the environmental stuff. |
